Equine Chiropractic Care

Dr. Sarah Heath is a mobile equine chiropractor and travels around southern Ontario. She visits equestrian facilities to assess and treat the equine community. Each chiropractic visit includes taking a detailed history, gait analysis, physical exam/assessment and treatment (unless contraindicated).

What to expect

A gait analysis can be performed on a lunge line or in hand. Videos under saddle can be assessed or in-person under saddle assessments can also be performed if necessary. The physical exam includes an assessment of soft tissues and joints throughout the spine and into the extremities. A whole picture approach is taken for each equine patient to make sure nothing is missed. Treatment for equine patients can include soft tissue work, manual chiropractic adjustments, and Kinesio taping (extra charge). Rehab exercises and stretches can also be prescribed based on the patient’s needs.

Clients are welcome to keep in touch between visits if any questions or concerns arise.  Collaboration with a veterinarian or other practitioners managing the case is also very important to ensure the proper care of each horse.
